Event at Johns Creek Art Center

The Johns Creek Arts Center is known for their extensive and successful summer camp programs youth and adult classes, but most people are unaware that the art center plays an important role in the community with its outreach programs funded this year with grants by the Fulton County Arts Council, the City of Johns Creek, and UPS. This funding enabled the Johns Creek Arts Center to provide art programs to seniors in assisted living environments so they could engage in a creative process with Johns Creek high school students. Studies show that seniors involved in art activities enjoy an increased sense of wellbeing and improved cognitive function. Seniors benefit tremendously from the social interaction that these programs provided. Art for the Ages: A Celebration of Lifelong Learning is an exhibition of the artwork created during these outreach programs. This reception, Saturday, May 3, 2014 1:30-3:30 at the Johns Creek Arts Center is free and open to the public. Refreshments served.
