Event Description:
Twisted Spokes Bicycles is the host business for the forum and fundraiser where we will share in food and drink. Come out to meet & greet as candidates prepare to answer your important questions, educate and provide innovative solutions for the coming years relating to their stable platform(s) that directly relate to your future. Just as important, how they will work to maintain the steady and flourishing growth of Johns Creek.
Here is some insight into the Candidates. You will be able to prepare and/or personally ask questions:
Marybeth Cooper Post 4- Top priorities are Public Safety; Traffic Congestion; Zoning and Parks Bond.
Brian Weaver Post 2- Supports having the most effective Police Department in the state; Putting our neighborhoods first; Supporting Regional efforts to improve roads and relief traffic; and Opposes all new taxes.
Judy LeFave Post 6- Will be discussing Zoning; Traffic Congestion Relief Efforts; Public Safety and Parks Bond. Judy would also love the City to develop a Master Plan that includes a City Center. As a City, she believes we need an identity where people are able to gather.
Twisted Spokes Bicycles has been in business in Johns Creek for 6 1/2 years. Shellie Dimery is Co-Owner with husband Brent Shellie is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a long time legal professional and comes from a family line of Human and Civil Rights Activists. Shellie is a bike accident survivor and has been recovering from having been hit by car while riding her bike 2 years ago. Twisted Spokes Bicycles and Shellie are passionate about traffic congestion and infrastructure. Twisted Spokes Bicycles and Shellie are also zealous about the youth in the community and believes safety, education and parks are at the forefront.
Co-host of the candidate event is Kirk Canaday. Mr. Canaday is a current board member of the Johns Creek Historical Society and Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Canaday is involved in many volunteer activities. Further, Mr. Canaday is a Member of Johns Creek Veterans Association and The American Legion post 201. Mr. Canaday, has been a Johns Creek resident since 2005.
