Are some people born to achieve anything they want while others struggle? What is the real reason for their success? A major difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure.

In life, the question is not "if" you will experience failures; but when they inevitably occur, how you are going to deal with them? Most people are never prepared to deal with failure. If you are like most people, you feared failure, misunderstood it, and ran away from it.

In this discussion based on the book "Failing Forward" by Dr. John C. Maxwell, we will take a closer look at failure and reveal that the secret of moving beyond failure is to use it as a lesson and a stepping-stone.

In Failing Forward, participants will learn:
  • the key main reasons people fail,
  • how to master fear instead of being mastered by it,
  • how to make failure your friend,
  • how to confidently look failure in the eye and move forward anyway,
  • how to move beyond mistakes and fulfill your potential to achieve success.

Speaker Bio:

Gregg Mooney

My lifelong commitment to personal growth and leadership development, combined with a passion for helping others reach their goals, led me to join the John Maxwell Team. Prior to joining the team, I served for over 30 years in Environmental Consulting, Design, and Construction, providing solutions for federal, municipal/utility, and private sector clients. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, both from West Virginia University, and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. I have been a registered Professional Engineer for over 30 years, am a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma (National Business Honorary), and am a registered Design Build Professional with the Design-Build Institute of America.

Throughout my career, I have served on literally hundreds of project delivery teams, including several regional and national award winning projects. And I have served in a wide variety of leadership roles, held numerous management positions, and served as Vice President in two major national engineering firms over a 20-year period.

Very early in my career, I was fortunate to serve with and for a few great leaders. Their example inspired me to become a student of leadership, devoted to lifelong learning and personal growth. I have found my greatest joy in serving others through helping them become better leaders.
