Name: WILD Weekend
Date: April 22, 2017
Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT
Event Description:

If you are looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday, come to Autrey Mill on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Wild Weekend. This annual family event encourages all to “take a walk on the wild side,” and features an assortment of games and nature crafts. Admission is $5 per person; under 2 are free.

Farmer Sue is the featured presenter, bringing a whole heap of her barnyard critters. The “Bubble Creation Station” is back by popular demand, drawing attention to the wonderment of bubbles in nature.  “Creature Features” will introduce visitors to an amazing array of reptiles, while “What’s Bugging You?” highlights beneficial bugs like butterflies, ladybugs and praying mantis. We are also pleased to be featuring Ken Barr’s Student Recital. Ken’s students will be playing acoustic sets on the hour. Visit the regular assorted animals of Autrey Mill; the ducks, chickens, rabbits, and Pebbles, the African Spurred Tortoise.

Food, drinks and chips available for purchase between the hours of 11am and 1pm.  Stay a few hours or make a day of it. Bring your appetite for exploration and thirst knowledge about the wild world around you. While you’re on-site, follow the miles of walking trails or listen to the cell phone heritage tour to learn about the historical buildings of the Heritage Village.

As a special bonus, “Wild”discounts ($10.00 discount per child) on in-person summer camp registration are available on Saturday, and through the Autrey Mill website on Sunday.

This event is made possible with the support of  Keep North Fulton Beautiful, Atlanta Audubon Society, Fulton County Water Resources, Ken Barr’s Guitar, and the Georgia Reptile Society.
