Job Description
JOHNS CREEK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
CHIEF COMMUNITY OFFICER
 
Reporting to the Board of Directors this part time Executive functions as the “Face of the Chamber” and is responsible for attracting, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with Major Corporate Members, small business members, Governmental and Institutional entities and the community at large. The Director functions in tandem with the COO and the Board of Directors in fund raising and developmental efforts.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Government Advocacy: Represent Membership’s interest to the City and other Governmental and Regulatory entities.
 
Membership Growth and Value: Effectively communicate the Chambers value proposition of being the premier destination for businesses to connect, thrive, and grow in the community. Develop strategies and messages to demonstrate the value and prestige of Chamber Membership. Refine and develop membership levels by cost and attendant benefits (i.e. representation on the Board). Actively identify and communicate with potential new business members.
 
Chamber Representation: Act as Master of Ceremonies at Chamber events including Monthly Meetings, Golf Outing, Gala, Founders Day and other special events.
 
Significant Activities:
 
*Meet prospective members and establish effective communications with them.
*Create and implement a schedule to meet with and demonstrate value to Chairman’s Circle Members.
*Work closely with COO and Board.
*Represent the Chamber to affiliated organizations such as Johns Creek Advantage, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Johns Creeks Healthcare Association and other appropriate entities.
*Seek out and identify opportunities to expand the scope of Chamber integration in the business and communities at large.
*Perform Chamber related duties and activities as directed by the Board.
*Identify and implement additional fundraising opportunities.
 
Required Professional Qualifications:
 
*Proven history of executive and management leadership
*Marketing and or Public Relations Experience in the private or public arena
*Strong interpersonal, writing, and public speaking skills
*History of leadership in voluntary organizations

Salary: $30K annually + expense allowance
